Inspired by Determination: Steven's Inaugural Challenge

The Cornwall 500 was ignited by the incredible journey of Steven Webb. In September 2024, Steven undertook a remarkable 500-mile challenge across Cornwall in his electric wheelchair. This wasn’t just a personal feat; it was a powerful demonstration of the Cornwall 500’s core values: accessibility, community spirit, and a passion for discovering Cornwall’s hidden gems.

Steven’s journey:

    • Covered 500 miles in 20 days, averaging 25-30 miles daily in his electric wheelchair.
    • Marked the 33rd anniversary of his life-changing accident, adding deep personal significance.
    • Involved laying the first 75 Cornwall 500 plaques across the county.
    • Raised over £13,000 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT), a cause close to his heart.

Steven’s pioneering journey is a testament to the spirit of the Cornwall 500 – a journey for everyone, regardless of ability, inviting all to explore and connect with Cornwall on a deeper level.
